Sittles flyers welcome visits from plane spotters and other aviation enthusiasts during publicly advertised flyins and other advertised events at the club where the airfield is
open to the public.(nb visitors must make themselves known to our staff/members/for a brief Health+Safety talk/children Must be supervised at all times
(WORKING FARM SO, NO DOGS /PETS ARE ALLOWED ON SITE EVER )
However. sadly we have no reliable way of verifying if a visitor is a genuine aviation enthusiast or if they are just pretending to be one to disguise some other nefarious motives. So for this reason
we no longer permit unaccompanied members of the public
on site outside of publically advertised club events.
we are based on a working PRIVATE farm
do not enter even when gates open without permission
as PRIVATE means PRIVATE PROPERTY
Safety is also an issue as members may need to run engines and propellors on the ground as part of routine maintenance procedures and having members of the public suddenly appear without warning around hangars can be distracting to pilots and sometimes dangerous.
Therefore we politely request plane spotters and other members of the public to respect PRIVATE PROPERTY and not to come on site outside of publically advertised club events. Anyone seen on site will be asked to leave.
Making prior appointments to view planes in hangars is also really not practical because each member of the club only has authority to grant permission to view their own plane, and making appointments to meet on site is often unreliable due to changes in weather and members other work and family committments.
Email us before you come on site not after
